John Goodman's Weight Loss Journey
John Goodman is a well-known actor, famous for his roles in tv shows and movies like Roseanne, The Big Lebowski, and Monsters, Inc. He had always used his weight to his advantage in his past roles, playing it for humor or intimidation. His weight once ballooned close to 400 pounds. During the 90s, he would struggle with yo-yo diets, losing up to seventy pounds before gaining it all back shortly.
One day in 2007, at 55 years old, he committed to living better by eating healthier and exercising more. Three years later, he lost 100 pounds by cutting out alcohol and sugar and working out six days a week. His exercise routine would focus on walking at least 10k steps daily; the treadmill and elliptical bicycle would also factor in.
In 2023, John would reveal he had lost more than 200 pounds altogether since 2007; another 100 pounds since 2010. Things that worked for him included boxing, daily walks, and going on the Mediterranean diet, which involved eating a lot of fish, vegetables, and fruits.
