Heaviest NFL MVP
Posted: Aug 17, 2023
The last 10 NFL MVPs from 2013-2022 are quarterbacks. In total, 46 out of 67 MVPs went to quarterbacks, and most quarterbacks are on the lighter side compared to other positions. Cam Newton did break the mold, at least weight-wise, when he won MVP in 2015. Cam is one of the taller and heavier quarterbacks that ever played at 6'5 and 245 pounds. He passed for 35 touchdowns and rushed for ten more while leading the Carolina Panthers to a 15-1 record that season.
Newton is not the only player to win the MVP at 245 pounds; the defensive tackle Alan Page won it for the Minnesota Vikings in 1971. Page became the first and only one of two defensive players ever to win MVP.
