Trent Williams
Trent Williams was the fourth overall draft pick in 2010. He quickly turned into one of the best left tackles in the game, making the Pro Bowl seven straight years from 2012 to 2018. Then in January 2019, at the age of 30, he was diagnosed with a rare head cancer, Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans. Doctors told him that this could be life-threatening.
He had surgery to remove cancer shortly after. It was successful! He then had to be sidelined for the next eight months and missed the 2019 NFL season. Soon later, the San Francisco 49ers traded for Trent. In the two years since, he has made the Pro Bowl and is considered one of the best, if not the best, left tackles in the NFL.

I definitely do give thanks for every day that I'm here because I know how fragile life is. Regardless of your age, it all could change in the blink of an eye. But for the most part, I just feel like I'm maxing out my potential. I think it would be hard for me to sleep at night, knowing that I was abundantly blessed with an ability and with a physical set of traits and I didn't take advantage of it.
