The shortest MLS MVP winner is the five-foot-four and 130-pounder Sebastian Giovinco, who won the MVP in his debut season for the Toronto Football Club in 2015. He came over from the Italian team Juventus. Giovinco scored 22 goals with 16 assists that season, leading the league in both categories.

He set the MLS record for most combined goals and assists in a single season (38) beating Chris Wondolowski’s previous record of 27 goals and 7 assists (34 combined) in 2012. He became the first player in MLS history to record at least 20 goals and 10 assists in a single season.
