First Woman Master Sommelier

The Master Sommelier test is one of the most difficult out there; there have only been 273 people who passed the exam since its origin in 1969 as of 2022. The test consists of a knowledge section, service, and, perhaps, the most difficult, blind tasting. The pass rate is reportedly 10%. The first woman to pass the exam was the Englishwomen Claudia Harris; she passed in 1984.
