Deion Sanders was never an underdog during his playing days, bringing his skills and flashiness onto the field in the NFL and MLB. However, when he delved into coaching, many wondered why and if "Primetime" could succeed. He took the FCS team, Jackson State, to double-digit wins in 2021 and 2022 before leaving for the best league in college football to coach the Colorado Buffaloes. Many doubted Deion again; how can this person with so little coaching experience do in FBS, especially with a team struggling for many years in Colorado?
In his first season, Deion swapped in 87 new players. The 2023 CFB season is still early, but Deion and Colorado are off to a flying start. Their debut game was against the 17th-ranked TCU on September 2nd. They were a 21-point underdog and +700 to win. Deion's son, Shedeur Sanders, would pass for four touchdowns and 510 yards to help the Buffaloes win 45-42.

Mandel: Deion Sanders made me a believer
Be honest: You thought his team would come out and get embarrassed in “the biggest season opener college football has seen in years.” (Fox’s promo tagline.) I know I did.
