In game 2 of the 1971 quarterfinals between the Montreal Canadiens and the defending champion Boston Bruins, the Canadiens found themselves down 5-1 during the second period. However, Henri "Pocket Rocket" Richard would score another goal for Montreal to trim the lead down to three by the end of the period.
The Canadiens would be the only team to do any scoring in the final period, tying the game with 10:01 left and taking the lead five minutes and twenty-four seconds later on a John Ferguson goal. The final score would be 7-5, making this the largest postseason comeback at the time.
