Jeopardy! (March 22, 2023)
The defending champion Melissa Klapper, a Rowan University professor, would correctly answer the first two questions on the March 22, 2023, Jeopardy game but would lose the lead to Karen Morris after the ninth question.
With six questions still on the board in Double Jeopardy, the leader Karen had more than three times Melissa's score, $21,800 to $7,100. To mount a potential comeback, Melissa probably figured she had to uncover the last Daily Double to get within striking distance in Final Jeopardy. Yet, Karen would find the final Daily Double on the next clue, which should have cemented the game for her because the remaining five clues only added up to $2,400. However, Karen would err, wagering $10,000 and getting the answer wrong, dropping her to $11,800.
Melissa would correctly answer three of the final five questions, making her only down by $2,700 entering the final round. She would correctly answer Final Jeopardy while Karen did not, making Melissa a 3-day champion.

Ultimately, I did what I did, and I had THE MOST FUN, and at the end of the day (I’m sorry Mom, I know you hate that phrase) it’s a game, and it’s a show, and it’s a game show.

Today’s Final Jeopardy – Wednesday, March 22, 2023
Karen got to them both, finding the second when in a guaranteed runaway position at that point. However, she bet $10,000—and her inability to come up with a response nearly halved her score. This brought both Melissa and Zach back into play; scores going into Final were Karen at $11,400, Melissa at $8,700, and Zach at $7,200.
