The NBA is known as a big man's game, and the heaviest MVP out of the four major North American sports comes from the NBA. Shaquille O'Neal, at his then-listed weight of three hundred and twenty-five pounds, is the heaviest player to win the NBA MVP or an MVP in any major sport. In 2023, Shaq recently said he played the 2000 season at 415 pounds. The next closest are other NBA centers in the 280-pound range. He won the award in the 1999-2000 season, averaging a career-high 29.7 points en route to winning the championship with the Los Angeles Lakers.
