Earlier on March 16, 2012, a #15 seed already beat a #2 seed when Norfolk State beat Missouri. #15-seed Lehigh would have the same opportunity against #2 Duke but would be a 12.5-point underdog. Nevertheless, future NBA All-star CJ McCollum would score 30 and help Lehigh beat Duke 75-70. This game was the sixth time ever that a #15-seed defeated a #2-seed.
