Predrag Radosavljević, also known as Preki, is the oldest MLS MVP at 40 years old. He won the award for the second time in 2003, six years after his first MVP. Fittingly, he scored the same amount of goals and assists for the Sporting Kansas City team in both years, 12 and 17, respectively. The next oldest player to win the award is five years younger than him.

Preki Radosavljevic, a 40-year-old midfielder-forward for the Kansas City Wizards who credits yoga for his late-career resurgence, was named most valuable player, making him the first two-time recipient of the award in the league's eight-year history. He led MLS in scoring with 12 goals and 17 assists and guided the Wizards to a second-place finish in the Western Conference.
