From being a single mom to law school

Many might think it is too late to become a lawyer after you become a parent, but Redditor emotionalecon is not letting that stop her from trying. In fact, her challenges are even more demanding than just being a parent. After having to move cross country with a three-month-old daughter to escape from an abusive spouse, emotionalecon managed to score 169 on the LSAT ten months later.
She accomplished this despite also having to deal with family court to fight for custody of her daughter. Her bad experience with family court actually led her to pursue a law career. She achieved a 169 test score by studying for a couple of hours every night for four months after putting her child to sleep. Emotionalecon took many practice tests on LawHub, working up from a 146 diagnostic score to a range in the 160s before taking the actual LSAT.
A little bit longer than a year after this whole thing started, she recently got accepted into the two law schools in her state with substantial scholarships. Emotionalecon has proven that even being a single parent can not stop someone from getting into law school.

Moved across the country with my baby to escape an abusive spouse seven months ago, and somehow managed this score today. It’s not perfect but it’s enough to get some scholarships and work towards my daughter being able to call her mama an attorney someday. Thanks to this sub for all the advice.
