Even Christina Hendricks was bullied

You probably wouldn't reckon the actress that played Joan Holloway from Mad Men, Christina Hendricks, would ever struggle with self-esteem, but that is not the case. She was bullied in high school, even getting spat at. She would turn to the drama department to get away.

Shortly after high school, Hendricks became a model. In her late 20s, she moved into acting; she started in commercials before minor tv roles and then found her breakthrough role with Mad Men. She loved Joan's character when she read it, but her agency didn't and dropped her for taking the part. Ultimately, she was proven correct as Mad Men became a huge success, leading to much acclaim for Christina.
